Mounting our lights
Most feeder lights require that you install a 4×4 post or T-post near your feeder to be able to mount and use their feeder light system. The last thing I want to do is carry a 4×4 post and post hole digger or a T-post and post driver out to my feeder area just to mount a light. And, that would be a semi-permanent installation. What if I want to move my light to another specific spot at the same feeder location, making a needed lighting angle adjustment? What if I want to use my light at an entirely new location for a few nights on short notice? The lights I have seen would make that very difficult and a real hassle. Our lights were designed with flexibility and easy mounting options in mind. Quick and easy installation and relocation. The included ratchet strap is intended for mounting your light kit securely to a barrel feeder, box feeder, tree trunk, light pole, etc… very easily and in a matter of minutes, while the included U-bolts will secure the kit to a std T-post if that is your preference. You can easily and cheaply add a 3′ long PVC extension pipe to attain your desired final elevation. It is generally recommended to mount your light approximately 8′ above the ground and tilt it downward to aim at a bait pile approximately 20′-30′ away from the light. Keeping this in mind, a T-post should be located off to the left or right of the feeder, quartering away from the hunter’s location. If mounting on the feeder, it is best to have a bait pile approximately 20′ off to the left or right of the feeder with the light quartering away from the hunter’s line of sight. Keep in mind that the two red leds built into the case will need to be visible from the hunters location as they are key visual indicators while hunting:
– power to unit confirmation (10 slow blinks)
– low battery alert (10 rapid blinks)
– motion detection alert (5 slow blinks)
– light is on and functioning in night mode confirmation (visible all night – dusk to dawn)
